Foreign visitors converge on Tecnargilla 2006

The show was attended by more than 11,000 overseas visitors. Spain was the best represented country, followed by Brazil, Turkey, Germany, Russia, China, Iran, Poland, Portugal and Mexico

The twentieth Tecnargilla, the world’s leading exhibition of technologies and supplies for the ceramic and brick industries organised by Rimini Fiera S.p.A. in cooperation with ACIMAC (Italian Ceramic Plant and Machinery Manufacturers’ Association) and held in Rimini from 28 September to 2 October, registered an attendance of 30,820, 19% up on the 30,241 at Tecnargilla 2004.
The figure for Italian visitors was very positive, up from 19,277 in 2004 to 19,747 in 2006 (+2.4%). But the show’s international scope was demonstrated by the presence of large numbers of foreign professionals from many different countries. Total foreign attendance rose from 10,964 at the past show to 11,073, an increase of 1%. About a hundred countries were represented. The main countries of origin were the principal importers of Italian ceramic machinery, demonstrating that buyers operating in dynamic ceramic markets and in search of the best available technologies consider Tecnargilla to be the leading tradeshow at a global level for innovations in the sector.
The top ten countries of origin of visitors were Spain (11.5% of total foreign visitors), Brazil (6.4%), Turkey (5.4%), Germany (4.5%), Russia (4.1%), China (3.5%), Iran (3.5%), Poland (2.9%), Portugal (2.8%) and Mexico (2.4%).
These were followed by France (2.1%), Greece (2.0%), India (1.9%), Indonesia (1.9%), Argentina (1.7%), Thailand (1.6%), the United Kingdom (1.4%), Egypt (1.3%), Japan (1.3%) and the USA (1.2%).
The show’s international scope was likewise reflected in the origin of the exhibitors, with foreign companies accounting for more than 37% of the total of 752.
The next Tecnargilla will be held in Rimini in 2008.
