Over 600 companies taking part at Iberflora 2006
35th Iberflora and 4th Eurobrico at Feria Valencia from 18th to 20th October
Foreign participation at Iberflora accounts for 35% of totalFrom 18th to 20th October, over 600 exhibitors will take part at Iberflora, the International Fair of Mediterranean Plants and Flowers, Technology and Gardening. The figure represents a 6% growth over the last edition, confirming the upwards trend experienced by the event.
With a net area of 28,000 square metres, Iberflora will occupy Level 3 in Pavilions 1, 2, 3 and 4 at Feria Valencia, and Level 2 in Pavilions 1 and 3.
If we analyse the various sectors comprising the fair, we see that the Plants and Flowers Show accounts for 50% of the total number of exhibitors. It features the product range from all regions of Spain, plus products brought by producers from Italy, Holland, France, Belgium, Portugal and Costa Rica. In turn, the Technology Show will put on show the latest innovations in machinery, watering systems and technologies applied to horticulture and landscaping.
Finally, the Garden Show is the section that has seen the biggest growth in recent editions, and this is largely due to the incorporation of new sectors representing the whole range of products currently on sale at gardening and DIY outlets. For the second year running, the Iberflora Garden Show will be held concurrently with Eurobrico, the Professional DIY Show, with which it shares a significant synergy, as in the case of the distribution channels represented by the garden centres.
The international participation at Iberflora represents 35% of the total. Particularly noteworthy are the Italian exhibitors, with over fifty companies, plus many official regional organizations from that country.
Gardening and DIY Al Invest
The Gardening and DIY Al Invest business meeting between European and Latin American companies, will be held during IBERFLORA. To date, around fifty companies from both continents have already registered. Al Invest provides a framework of meetings for buyers from large distribution channels from the two continents and companies exhibiting at the Iberflora Garden Show and Eurobrico.
This EU backed programme of business meetings is organised by Iberflora, Eurobrico and IVEX (Valencian Foreign Trade Agency).
Iberflora and the University
Among the comprehensive programme of activities held in parallel with the fair’s commercial exhibition, is the official opening of the first Iberflora Design, Construction, Maintenance and Management of Golf Courses Master.
The fair is also the venue for the presentation of the Master certificates to the students from the first Iberflora Gardening and Landscaping Master and of the 7th Gardening and Landscaping Final Year Projects Awards.
35th Anniversary
Iberflora will celebrate its 35th anniversary in a commemorative event scheduled for the evening of the opening day of the fair, 18th October at 9 pm, in the Hemisfèric at the City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia.
The event, moderated by the director and presenter of the Spanish TV program Agrosfera, will cast its gaze over the history of Iberflora since its first event in 1972, and will pay tribute to Vicente Peris Pizarro, founder and director of IBERFLORA until his demise last October.
