The Taporo studio sublimates concrete
Philippe Tissot never grows tired of praising the virtues of concrete.
"It is a mighty material whose texture can be infinitely modulated. It can take on colours and moulding allows it to take shape so that it can be harmonized to decors. Its feel can be as silky as a talc-powdered surface or as shiny as a polished stone. The finishes can go from matt to extremely glossy. And the furniture can be used inside as well as outside", goes on with enthusiasm the designer of elegant furniture that is simultaneously minimalist in the precision of its lines and sensual in its approach of the material. A design of purity which meets up with the heritage of pioneering works by Le Corbusier and Augustine Perret. The mastery of high performance concrete allows this trained engineer to create furniture, lamps but also wall panels with textures "like a ballet of bubbles". He does not hesitate to give concrete the effects of lizard or crocodile skin, to imprison within it, pearly pigments or semi-precious stones. But the clientele of influencers particularly appreciates the fluid aesthetics of the original pieces that are made-to-measure. Françoise Dorget, founder of the famous Caravane boutique in Paris, selected his designs. Created in 2005, the Taporo studio also puts its know-how at the disposal of artists and designers. Philippe Tissot has thus created the steles and the meditation panels for the visual artist Baudouin Taslé d’Hélian.
