Christofle sells off its historic site in Saint-Denis
In 1876, the silversmith Charles Christofle has a red brick factory built on a site measuring 21,000 m², bordering the Saint-Denis canal, near Paris. In 2004, the factory discontinues its production of place settings and tableware accessories which will be delocalized in Normandy. Today, the Christofle company parts with its historic site which employed up to 1,600 employees. The Bouilhet-Christofle museum and its approximately 2,000 silversmith’s pieces will remain within the walls of this monument of French industrial heritage.
