The swimming pool market is becoming more democratic
With 90,000 more pools last year, or a 7% growth, the private swimming pool market in France is thriving. “Manufacturers’ innovations have contributed to the democratization of swimming pool purchases,” states a study by the strategic analysis consultancy Precepta
Thanks to the possibility of setting up one’s own above-ground pool, along with decreased prices, the world of swimming pools has changed from being a construction market to a large distribution market aimed at the general public. Hypermarkets, large home improvement stores and garden supply stores are closely following this development, as are the new construction networks. “Above-ground pools will continue to gain ground. They will account for nearly 40% of private swimming pools in France in 2008, and will be the main motor for increased volume in swimming pool sales,” the study predicts.
