FAIR, ETHICAL PRODUCTS –ESSENTIAL ACTORS FOR TOMORROW Directing visitors towards tomorrow with brands respecting both the environment and the human element, who think greener and manufacture cleaner, polluting less.

SO ETHIC responds to a strong movement which interests almost every second French person, and which is essential for the planet’s future. Between 25% and 40% of consumers are beginning to think about « ethical consumption ». The newspaper Le Monde spoke in July 2004 of the consumer « rebellion ». These different consumers have no hesitation in calling themselves « consum’actors » or « alter consumers », buying organic (54% of French have already bought organic – source Inra 2003) and recommencing. Brands, distributors and advertising agencies are reconsidering their stand: 38 % of French declare taking into account ethical engagements (source Crédoc ). In communication today « Eco-Conception » and the image of the citizen enterprise is taken very seriously indeed: how to conciliate creation and business. The extremely prestigious school HEC, has included in its program this year a course linked to a personal project christened « Management Alter », management concerned by social, ethical and environmental questions. Whilst the authority-promoted EKILIBRE, adressed to young fair trade companies, cooperatives and associations, recently recompensed a company specializing in textile accessories manufactured in Cambodia - « La Vie Devant Soie « - with a prize of 5,000 euros to aid in its launching. With So Ethic, PRÊT À PORTER PARIS® is the only French trade fair offering a major place to this responsible, engaged movement. Here will meet 30 representative international brands, preoccupied with the social conditions of production and the respect of the environment.
