Designer Manuel Fernández presents the latest trends In Children’s Solidarity Fashion at Pasarela Fimi
Designer Manuel Fernández will present at FIMI, the International Fair of Children’s and Young People’s Fashion of Valencia taking place from 12th to 14th January 2007, his new Global Collection, featuring the latest trends in children’s solidarity fashion in collaboration with the non-governmental organization Global Humanitaria. The idea is to create a children’s fashion collection to raise funds to finance projects developed by this NGO.
This singular collection came about from the close collaboration between Manuel Fernández and Global Humanitaria in actions carried out in Latin America. For these creations, Manuel Fernández has taken inspiration from his experiences over the last three years in Latin America, together with his childhood memories of the unforgettable Pippi Longstockings. So, as you might expect, Global Collection is a fun, casual, comfy and smart collection with Globalita—the NGO’s character—featured on most of the garments.
Manuel Fernández has been working in the fashion trade since 1983. He has always taken a cutting-edge approach to fashion and coupled it with broad swashes of idealism. This cosmopolitan designer has always given his designs an international focus, showcasing his collections at international fashion shows like the Fashion Week in New York, which he has been attending regularly over the last few years. He constantly updates his designs with new languages and nuances coming with new experiences. Manuel Fernández has created costumes for cinema, TV, theatre, advertising, etc.
Global Humanitaria is a not-for-profit NGO working hard to improve the quality of life of underprivileged people in Latin America, Africa, Asia in three fundamental aspects: education, health and food safety, with children and young people as the primary beneficiaries.
This exciting new collection will be unveiled in a fashion show at Pasarela FIMI taking place on Friday 12th at 4:30 pm.
