"EXOTIC"from exotic to… “exochic”
In its search for renewed horizons, the home is inaugurating imaginary geographies in order to escape the world’s brutality. MAISON&OBJET interrogates the desire for an Elsewhere and curiosity about the Other in a disoriented age that dreams of fleeing the daily grind. A vagabond state of mind assigns cultural diversity to the home. The polar opposite of bargain-basement exoticism, this is a cosmopolitan “exochic” for living together at the ends of the earth or right next door.
