Elizabeth Perraud cannot help herself from having ideas. A doctor at the head of a private research laboratory, she applies for patents every two years. The alumnus of the Beaux-Arts (School of Fine Arts) has also just launched a new decoration website devoted to "stylish and casual objects".

The founder of chateaushop.com admits: "I have a limitless imagination". Owner of a " ruinously expensive castle in ruins" in the Camargue region, she begins by designing objects to decorate the austere residence. As she adores both words and humour, her designs do not take themselves seriously. "I want to put a little bit of insolence in the home with products that are simultaneously funny and of quality with accessible prices for all", explains this entrepreneur who self-financed her intuitions. The first product range was put on-line in the beginning of May and already includes 300 product references within four product categories: quilt covers, mirrors, rugs and wall hangings. The veiled references aren’t lacking: the Intellectual’s quilt, one for the Paranoiac or the Rapper, while the Chocolate-brown steel mirror plays with trompe-l'oeil. The fashion victims will be unable to resist the Rue Saint-Honoré rug or the Fringues (Clothes) mirror. So many personal favourites that are made in France and which will soon be expanded to include a collection of magnetic wall decorations. After having charmed private clients, Chateaushop is definitely planning to launch a product range to the attention of distributors with "more opulent-looking products" and is already thinking about adapting her off-beat world to the real world of boutiques.
