Casa Pasarela: Cutting edge design for the art of living

The most prestigious designers and manufacturers will come together at this unique event, one that can only be compared with the design shows staged in New York and Milan and that caters for an increasingly discerning section of demand in terms of design.

The leading brands on the international market will present the luxurious appeal of a range of high-quality products at Casa Pasarela through the presentation of a number of cutting-edge ideas and proposals.

As a meeting-point for designers and the industry, the year 2007 edition of the fair will set aside the 15th and 16th February exclusively for professionals, opening its doors to the general public on 17th and 18th February.

Casa Pasarela 2007, organised by IFEMA in collaboration with the original promoters of the project, Acción Pasarela Promotores, will stage its third edition between 15th and 18th February at Feria de Madrid. This must event for the most important brands and designers in the world will exhibit the latest trends and new products on the market, catering for an increasingly strong section of demand that craves both quality and design. The staging of this new edition marks the consolidation of an innovative international event, one that already played a leading role within the industry last year.

At its first few editions, the fair focused strongly on promoting a design culture. This year it will go a step further in order to reach the most discerning demand sectors, targeting, on the one hand, a range of cutting-edge customers that set the trend and, on the other, professionals within the industry, who serve as prescribing parties vis-à-vis the end consumer. In this respect, Casa Pasarela 2007 will set aside its first two days, 15th and 16th February, exclusively for professionals from the industry, subsequently opening its doors to the general public on 17th and 18th  February.

Numerous architects, decorators, designers and consumers will visit Madrid in order to attend this "exhibition for the art of living," as Juan Ordax, the creative mind behind the project, has defined the fair. Madrid is becoming an increasingly cosmopolitan and dynamic city and it will serve as the design capital of the world for a few days. The most important companies on the market will take part in Casa Pasarela, presenting their most latest products, high-quality cutting-edge designs that are destined to become the  classics of the future. In this respect, Madrid has joined New York and Milan as a centre for promoting design culture within the home. The purpose of this fair is to establish contact with a section of the public that is becoming increasingly interested in the innovative home trends created by the best designers in the world.

Armani Casa, Minotti, Ipe Cavalli, Metodonuzzi, Lladro, Natuzzi, Jacob Delafon, B-Ticino, Dedon, A. F. Dorhbracht, Ruckstuhl, Poliform ... are just some of the great brands and designers that will be present at Casa Pasarela 2007, following the precedents set at previous editions, which featured the participation of Jean Marie Massaud, Belén y Rafael Moneo and Patricia Urquiola, among others. The forthcoming edition will also welcome Jaime Hayón, along with various of his projects.

Casa Pasarela 2007 will reflect the importance of quality and design as factors that are likely to play an increasingly prominent role in catering for future demand. In fact, an increasing number of consumers are investing in home design and this sector presents some excellent growth prospects. In this respect, this year's exhibition aims to promote the idea that designer homes, bathrooms and kitchens represent the vanguard of innovation in our time and are destined to become the classics of tomorrow.

A good example of the way this market is maturing is provided by the show-rooms presented in Madrid by some of the most important brands in the world, such as B.D., Gunni, D.R, Gibo etc., all of which will be among the exhibitors at Casa Pasarela 2007.

The public will have an opportunity to learn all about their products: the latest new features, how much they cost, where they can be found, ... visitors will even be able to purchase them at the fair itself.

Bathrooms: A Special Star in 2007.

 Consumers today seek to enjoy a designer environment in any part of the home, combining this appeal with convenience and the latest technological advances. Every part of the home thus offers a range of suggestive ideas, becoming a source of inspiration for both designers and brands. This year, Casa Pasarela will focus in particular on bathrooms, which have ceased to serve a mere functional role, offering numerous opportunities to become a veritable work of art. In order to demonstrate this fact, Casa Pasarela 2007 will present an exceptional exhibition featuring the participation of many of the world's leading brands, such as Hansgrohe, Roca, Tau, Salón and Alape, among others. 

The staging of Casa Pasarela will coincide with ARCO, the International Contemporary Art Fair, and Pasarela Cibeles, Spain's leading clothing design showcase. This three-cornered focus on the world of culture and design will make Madrid a unique forum for promotion and information over a number of days.
