Shovelle, Inc. was founded in 1985 by Robert Currea. Originally importing to the United States fashion leather goods like shoes, belts and wallets from factories in Germany, Italy and Spain. Focusing primarily on products made by various obscure European manufacturers. Miami became and still is the home base for Shovelle, Inc. In the first year of operation sales grew to cover the major cities across the United States. The late eighties however proved to be counter productive as the weakening dollar drove up costs. A once growing market shrunk as more economical leather goods immersed from Asia and South America. However, our fashion belts continued to sell, mostly due to the close ties developed with innovative Spanish and Italian craftsmen and a mutual love for the product. Originality and updated European styling became the corner stone on which Shovelle inc. thrives today. The solution to the weak dollar came down to domestically producing our own products.Shovelle Inc. then became what is now a 100% self-sufficient manufacturer of quality leather belts. The mission of Shovelle Inc. is clear and focused, create, manufacture and deliver at a reasonable price the latest fashion belts made in the United States of America. We tailor the most unique European belt designs to the taste levels of the contemporary consumer. Robert regularly visit Europe searching for fashion trends and new products. He works with the most exclusive and unique leather and buckle manufacturers of Italy and Spain. Our most successful retailers recognize the Shovelle Inc. Obviously the consumer perceives the value of a great looking belt as a reasonable retail price.
