HISTORY OF THE COMPANY

ndusa was founded in August 1991. In the following year in February the building of the company started to be constructed. It was in May 1993 that the manufacture of sanitary ware in vitreous china began. Within a year the company duplicated its production capacity as well as the number of workers.

In no time the company gained the customer’s trust and consolidated its image of quality. The next step in the company’s strategy evolved to a solution of integrated offer of products, under the global concept of bathroom.

It was then in 1997 that the company acquired Grau – taps’ and accessories’ factory. The factory began to produce a couple of years later, completing the set of the existing products. Grau started developing monocommand and bicommand taps for bathroom and kitchen, as well as accessories and other complementary products.

In 1998 another unit was opened. Sanindusa began producing bathtubs, simple or hydro massage, shower trays and shower pedestals in acrylic.

In 2001 the company strove for a new attempt, segmenting its market to a specific public: architects and interior designers. This stage was characterised by the opening of a new ceramics productive unit. Ceramics is a material that offers a manufacturer the possibility to enlarge its set of products, allowing a more differentiated development in terms of technical and aesthetical solutions.

This was also the year of the opening of the company’s first subsidiary – Sanindusa Spain – a decision that marked the company’s process of internationalisation. The goal was for the company to pay greater attention to the market and to the reality of what really happens inside the country.

It was with determination and commitment that Sanindusa was able to conquer an excellent brand image and trust among its clients. The success was a great stimulus to face new challenges, betting on new technologies as well as on the development of information and innovation channels, providing the clients with outstanding service.

The creation of a new company, Sanindusa 2, is a proof of Sanindusa’s effort to succeed. The manufacture of sanitary ware in fine fire clay began two years later. Sanindusa 2 represented an ambitious project and an example of technological innovation in the sector.
By using the most advanced and available technologies this company was conceived from the point of view of rationalisation of the productive resources, integrated global management process and consequent optimisation of quality concerning the products’ fabrication.

In December 2003 Sanindusa’s Group acquired the Spanish company – which is also a sanitary ware manufacturer – Unisan. Sanindusa’s Group was then composed by four companies. The acquisition of Unisan symbolised Sanindusa’s strategy of internationalisation. The Iberian market was regarded as one with a lot of potential.

Sanindusa S.A. is proud of everything it conquered since its opening. The sector in which it operates is characterised by its strong competition. The company’s path is valued, because this is the largest company in the Iberian Peninsula, producer of sanitary ware and other complementary items, which invests its own and national capitals.
