OMGA SPA at FIMMA 2007
More than 40 years in the woodworking machines production.
OMGA was founded on 1960 by Arrigo Ghizzoni in order to manufacture woodworking machines, more precisely, swivel mitre saws. In 1964 when the brothers Alberto and Gianni Ghizzoni joined the company, OMGA was transformed from a sole proprietorship into an unlimited partnership. By 1968 OMGA was a reality in the local and international production sector counting on 56 employees.
Growth continued steadily in the subsequent years until 1976 when the sector went through a cyclical crisis – coinciding with the world macroeconomic crisis – and it decided to diversify the production and introduces the light alloys work machines manufacture (e.g. aluminum window and door frames) and PVC.
The big step came on 1980. OMGA was transformed into a joint-stock company continuing to steadily expand its production lines designing, engineering and constructing new woodworking machines.
In 1992/1993 a new sector’s crisis dawned, but despite the general decline in demand, the company’s progress and technological growth could not be stopped. Offering its clientele ever faster, more flexible, safer and more accurate machines, also thanks to the business philosophy pursued right from the outset on the path to growth: close cooperation with partners and customers.
In 1997 the crisis in the Asian, Eastern European and South American markets drive the company to provide even greater importance to research & development and engineering, making OMGA an international leader supplying technologically advanced products.

Today OMGA operates in over 70 countries around the world, directly or through agents and dealers. OMGA counts on direct presence in the American market with its sister company OMGA INC. with seat at South Bent (Indiana).
Apart from the central production unit, there are two further units, one in Grigno in the province of Trento (Italy) and one in Romania.
The Grigno unit is dedicated to the radial arm saws, double mitre saws, and workbenches manufacture for window and door frame assembly and finishing. The Romania unit is dedicated to the mechanical and semi-finished components manufacture.
Because of the technologically advanced machines increasing offer, such as defecting and optimizing saw systems, finger-jointing machines, etc., the relationship between OMGA and the customer becomes even more important and vital, since the production process connected with the specific product needs to be examined and customized in order to find the best solutions.
Once again, our corporate spirit and philosophy emerges: treating customer as a partners helps in product development, thus becoming the ideal technical-operational solution for the customer’s marketing and production strategies. All this allows us to claim with extreme pride that the success of our customers automatically becomes our success.
