Montelpare em SIPIEL Modacalzado Septiembre 2007
The Company's history began at the start of the sixties when Andrea Montelpare's father, Giovanni, set up a small footwear factory. These were the years of economic boom, of Vespas and jukeboxes, of small handicraft stores as opposed to large industry, and Giovanni dedicated himself wholly to his business of making shoes with the care and attention which have always distinguished Italian handmade products. The change from a handicraft workshop to an industrial company and the start of the Company's gradual development began at the end of the eighties, when Andrea took over the management of the firm. In introducing automated stages to modernise production and making the Company more competitive, Andrea Montelpare Srl never renounced the essential role played by the professionalism of its workers who, to this day, carry out certain stages of production by hand, mindful of the unsurpassable quality which only hand-crafting can achieve. With a highly successful blend of handicraft skills and automation, Andrea Montelpare Srl manufactures high quality children's footwear, positioning itself among the market leaders in its field, always developing further its creative and productive potential in both the national and international marketplace. ndrea Montelpare Srl is located in an area of such beauty as to seem to belong to another era wherein lies what is known as the footwear district of the Marche region. When the weather is fine a not uncommon sight in the streets of Fermo is that of a gentleman bicycling towards a factory. A handicraft worker starting his shift? No. It is Andrea Montelpare on his way to work. He leaves his bicycle in the bike-rack, walks through the store, tours the production area and then goes up to his office which is bright, well-lit and cared for much as the rest of his company. Does it seem strange? No, for it is the boss's immutable point: since working there is like living in a family, the work place should be like a home and therefore welcoming, healthy and bright. Seen in this light, the kitchen plays a pivotal role. 'Working' over a large Marche doughnut, one talks about issues affecting the company and ways to tackle them: so it is that ideas and projects are born. A care-free and informal mood in a welcoming atmosphere. A dream? Utopia? No. Andrea Montelpare Srl is a world-leader in luxury children's footwear and, according to Andrea, for a product aimed at the very young to have to be charged with rudeness, abuse of power and exploitation is simply unthinkable. In this instance the product in question is the result of a teamwork-based company philosophy which firmly believes in the moral value of work and, in typical Italian style, marries all this with a multi-form, surprising and extraordinary creative vein: the hallmark of 'Made in Italy' productions.
