The Company's history began at the start of the sixties when Andrea Montelpare's father, Giovanni, set up a small footwear factory. These were the years of economic boom, of Vespas and jukeboxes, of small handicraft stores as opposed to large industry, and Giovanni dedicated himself wholly to his business of making shoes with the care and attention which have always distinguished Italian handmade products. The change from a handicraft workshop to an industrial company and the start of the Company's gradual development began at the end of the eighties, when Andrea took over the management of the firm. In introducing automated stages to modernise production and making the Company more competitive, Andrea Montelpare Srl never renounced the essential role played by the professionalism of its workers who, to this day, carry out certain stages of production by hand, mindful of the unsurpassable quality which only hand-crafting can achieve.
