Microtec GmbH-srl em Ligna + 2007
MiCROTEC is the technological leader in the field of optical electronics for the wood-processing industry and has been setting the standards for this market since 1980. There is no process for working wood that has not been rationalised, optimised and accelerated thanks to a corresponding
MiCROTEC system. By concentrating exclusively on and specialising in wood and wood working processes, MiCROTEC has led the innovations on this market. Over 20 engineers research and develop the most modern systems and technologies and work to continually improve MiCROTEC’s products and to reveal the wood’s last secrets.MiCROTEC originated and has its headquarters in Brixen in South Tyrol, Italy, a region with a long tradition in woodworking. Over the years MiCROTEC has set technological milestones and has grown continually. Also contributing to this are the two MiCROTEC branches in Linz, Austria and MiCROTEC BiOVISION in Mestre, near Venice. MiCROTEC has entered a close and fruitful strategic partnership with SPRINGER, Europe's top plant builder. This collaboration was strengthened in 2000 through Springer’s participation in MiCROTEC. With its 100 employees, the MiCROTEC groups produces a turnover of more than 18 million Euro worldwide. Commitment to Targeted Specialisation MiCROTEC - Innovating the Wood – concentrates exclusively on wood and optical-electronic measurement, recognition and supervision of the industrial processing with the aim of increasing performances in terms of quantity and quality. This specialisation and the resulting skills have resulted in MiCROTEC leading the innovations in the wood processing industry and in setting technological standards. Research and development is the basis for lasting business success and is given top priority. Satisfied customers are the highest aim of MiCROTEC and its employees. And so values such as quality, punctuality, reliability and commitment are MiCROTEC’s daily bread. Success out of an idea It was a merry evening in a pub when three friends decided to set forth and reinvent the wood processing industry. Hansjörg Thaler was the junior manager in a sawing plant in Brixen and was unsatisfied with the low productivity and the work-intensive activity in his company. Paul Durst, the visionary, and Fritz Giudiceandrea, the electronics expert, quickly understood where the solution could lie. The combination of these talents was the grounding for MICROTEC’s race to victory after it was christened in 1980. Thaler’s sawing plant served as the handy and constantly available test object. There were times when the three founders spent more time at the sawing plant than there were hours in the day. In 1982, electronics engineer Silvio Danuser joined the team. But application and commitment, coupled with the genius of engineers Giudiceandrea, Durst and Danuser as well as the practical wood processing know-how and the relentless feedback from sawing plant worker Thaler, were soon to bear fruit. The way to business success had been levelled out.
