For the 2007th edition of the Fuori Salone di Mobile of Milan, Devon & Devon welcomes Monique Le Ster, internationally known and appreciated French contemporary artist. The works of Monique Le Ster, wrapped and displayed in fabric and natural pigments with outstanding effect, will be “on display” in the Devon & Devon Showroom, emphasising Devon & Devon's hallmark for “decor”, and confirming yet again their strong attention for aesthetics and creative atmospheres using material and color.

DEVON & DEVON – CLASSIC CONTEMPORARY

The Devon & Devon brand name was born from an idea to re-create the bathroom as inspired by the characteristics and atmospheres from the Victorian era to the first half of the 1900s. A bathroom decorated with “historical pieces” that have become present in today's bathroom due to the particular attention to the modern day requirements of comfort and practicality.

Over the years this idea has developed and opened up the possibilities of offering complete and coordinated bathroom furnishings, a selection of timeless products items that can be either put in a harmonious classical context or be placed elegantly as “historical pieces” in a contemporary context.

Devon & Devon therefore today proposes a bathroom habitat decisively characterised in its style, inspired by the more refined European traditions, recognisable by its attraction to the past and unaltered by time in its absolute originality.

Soft forms, depth of the enamel, duration and reliability of the metallic surfaces, quality finishes, and extreme attention to details, represent the principle elements of the Devon & Devon quality; quality that is, as always, rich in, “aesthetics and functionality”, “form and substance”, “beauty and comfort”.

The experience of the project, the purity of the primary materials, the productivity process that conjugates technology and handicraft, the accuracy of the inspections, all these concepts take shape in the form of bathroom furnishings whose excellent characteristics are immediately perceived, as are the quality of the research and the sense of “beauty” by which they were inspired.

THE COLLECTIONS

The main idea leading the new lines of Devon & Devon products is of pure sophistication, where traditional design meets industrial age materials – copper, cast iron, lead, brass, nickel – all strong and evocative, whose qualities come ever more praised by the hand-made process, leaving each product a “personalised” piece of work.

The new lines suggest solutions both soft and at the same time industrial, perfectly blending both the texture of the contents and the elegance of their shapes. Purity and functionality accompany every piece, guaranteeing the simplicity of their operation, easy maintenance and durability.

The ambiance, noted in every detail and by their decorative settings, recall atmospheres from both the retrò and neo-romantic eras.






BATHS
Remarkable new bathtubs with evocative names: “Camelot”, “Ambra”, “Celine”. Each an exclusive piece with a strong identity, intricately handcrafted, giving an individual look with every production. A homage to the art of the early traditional bath.

Camelot – An enameled cast iron bath, beautifully displayed by it's outer cover in lead. With a bluish-greyish tint that only this pure material can give, this bathtub has a strong yet graceful presence.

Ambra – From its soft lines and amber glares, this bathtub also has an enameled cast iron interior, yet this time covered with a sheet of copper, hand patined by artisans. Taps and fixtures from Devon & Devon's own Coventry series presents a finish in this same artisanal copper.

Celine – A monolithic bathtub in marble resin with its drainage included in the actual bath design, Celine represents a bath of extreme refinement, in perfect neo-classic style; whose pearl-like raw materials are synonymous with natural stone.

Coventry bath & shower mixer – The Coventry line enriches Devon & Devon's new bathtubs with a new bath and shower mixer. This new fixture is traditional in design but technically innovative for its ability to unite both shower and bath fixtures. Available in several finishes.

ACCENTS AND SANITARY
Accentuating these new bathtubs with their soft and Junoesque lines, are Devon & Devon's new coordinating design pieces. Within these lies a mirror of great dimensions called Black Richard (99x120 cm; also available in 82x101 cm) framed in fine wood with its dark grey finish taken from the black nuances of the Victorian era. The New Etoile basin, a classic in the catalogue with it's soft lines and round facade, now has a soft shaped pedestal that matches perfectly. The New Etoile is bound together with a new line of sanitary products in which the adherence for elegance and the consideration of functionality are blended together beautifully.

CONSOLE
Shapes taken from elegance and purity are also reflected in the new marble console Palace, supported from metal legs with finishes in brass, chrome or nickel where a “back splash” in marble holds a wall-mounted tap particularly designed for this piece.

LIGHTING
Deriving from the 1930's, era we will also find Devon & Devon's new light fixtures Tribeca, Plaza, Ritz, Broadway and Allison. Clean lines and geometric shapes characterise these wall-supported fixtures, available in finishes brass, chrome, and nickel, with its glass shade set in an opaque satin white. Other innovations include two lamp shades to dress the already existing light fixtures, Jasmine and Daisy.

SURFACES
The name taken from its interlaced design, Intreccio gives us a new mosaic formation in gres ceramic. This particular pattern is produced with the coupling of two pieces: 2,3x5 cm and 1,2x1,2 cm. Available already mounted on sheets of paper in dimensions 30x30 cm in four colours.

The search for innovations in continuity with tradition is the basic philosophy seen in the world of Devon & Devon, and it is this same philosophy that is implied by these new products. The idea behind a harmonious and exclusive atmosphere for the bath is obtained with the selection of high quality products designed from European tradition, and seen to fruition by small businesses and artisans specialised in this refined workmanship.











PATINA

With the PATINA© trademark Devon & Devon proposes a collection of prestigious tiles designed for furnishing elegant and refined environments. Wall and floor tilings produced exclusively with the use of excellent materials such as wood, leather, and limestone; materials of such great quality that over time and during everyday use become even more fascinating.

Intarsia – A collection of hardwood floorboards pre-assembled in natural or dark tinted oak designs with numerous variations of INTARSIA (inserts) in Wengè Wood, Leather or Natural Stone.

Wood – A collection of hardwood floorboards in solid French Oak of great dimensions, available in natural non-treated wood in four colour variations, pre-finished with a wax effect.

Old Wood – A prestigious collection of hardwood floorboards in solid American Oak, produced with antique oak reclaimed from the dismantling of rural and industrial American buildings.

Pelle – A collection of wall tiles in printed natural leather, handmade in various textures, shapes and colours.

Cuoio – A collection of durable leather wall and floor tiles handmade by artisans in different shapes and colours.
