About Candidus Prugger
Prugger Candidus Company was founded over 30 years ago in Milan- Italy and has always specialised in wooden ornaments for furniture, and architectural decorations Mr. Georg Prugger, the owner of the Company, has created a vast line of beautiful decorative objects made of the finest hard woods: a collection of over 1000 different patterns of wooden carvings like rosettes, corners, onlays, shells, capitals, corbels, legs, panels and mouldings.But the masterpiece of the company is the Pliable Hardwood.
This special wood is obtained from squared timber, treated according to a particular process thanks to which it can be easily worked straight ahead as normal wood and bent in a dry and cold state and used for i.e. handrails for stairs, profiles for round tabletops, glass and shirting borders, etc (see our photo gallery).
Thanks to the excellent quality of its products, the successful introduction of several new product lines and with products acclaimed by architects, designers and builders, the company has become an international enterprise, located in Bressanone (BZ), north east of Italy.

Opera House - Valencia – Spain:
Our Bendywood has been used in the Main Hall of the Opera House in Valencia (Spain) designed by the world famous Santiago Calatrava. Bendywood® mouldings of 30x30mm have been used on the back walls of the stage to improve the acustic and the design of the stage.

Lamps in pliable wood -Atelier Piero Papari (TA) Italia:
There are some kinds of abstract sculptures that overcome the obstacle of design, making possible the creation of functional objects.
Piero Papari has been able to produce lamp sculptures thanks also to our pliable wood (Bendywood 10x30, 10x25, 10x20 and 5x35 mm): the series GAMMA 2003 with desk lamps, ceiling lamps and wall lamps.
