Bodegas Castaño S.L. is located in the municipality of Yecla at the northern region of Murcia renowned by its wine elaboration production highly committed to the wine variety rooted in the area.: the Monastrell grape variety.

Wine elaboration origin goes back to several generations of both wine growers and producers.

A new winery is built in 1970 thus modernizing and updating the technologic tools and expanding the family vineyards.

Bottling of the Monastrell grape variety - which up to that moment had been traded in bulk - started in 1980.

It is worth mentioning that Bodega Castaño has leaded the way in the region experimenting with Monastrell grape variety, both in varietals and in coupage blends.

Wines produced by Bodegas Castaño include Yecla’s Identification of origin; from the 4.500 hectares comprising the Region, more that 500 hectares belong to said winery.

The growing conditions provided by this highland region characterized by its Mediterranean and Continental weather support Monastrell color, body, structure and softness.

Bodegas Castaño achieves its wine production by combining Monastrell grape with other varieties such as the the Red Grape Variety: Garnacha Tintorera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo and Syrah.

Bodegas Castaño produces a wide variety of white, rosé and red wines which are distinguished by its careful production such as Dominio Espinal, Hecula, Pozuelo, Colección Dulce and Casa Cisca.
